CUTTING-EDGE FULFILMENT CENTRE IN QUEENSLAND

The Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) has completed its new $50 million fulfillment centre in Berrinba, Queensland. This state-of-the-art packing and distribution facility was developed in partnership with McNab at Charter Hall's Motorway Industrial Park.

The impressive 27,000 sqm custom-built facility boasts several high-tech features to meet a 4-Star Green Star Design & As-Built rating. Its standout attributes are temperature-controlled chambers and advanced automation systems, all contributing to high environmental performance.

COLDSHIELD'S ROLE IN ENHANCING EFFICIENCY

Coldshield was integral to the project's success, installing 12 Movidor HS high-speed rapid roll doors. These rapid-action doors are engineered to minimise the flow of air and contaminants such as dust, dirt, pests, and unauthorised access. Designed for optimal efficiency, these high-speed doors operate at speeds up to 2.5 meters per second, and were fitted with automatic radar triggers ensuring seamless movement for pedestrians and vehicles.

FEATURES OF HIGH-SPEED RAPID ROLL DOORS

Movidor HS Series rapid roll doors were chosen at the site for several reasons:

  • Speed and Automation: high-speed, rapid action with automatic triggers ensures quick and uninterrupted access.
  • Contaminant Control: The doors minimise the ingress of contaminants, maintaining a clean and secure environment.
  • Durability: built with a flexible lower bar that deforms on impact and then springs back into shape, ensuring robust and reliable performance in busy environments like fulfillment centres.
